The Putnams Organic Buckwheat Hull Pillow offers firm, adaptive support that moulds naturally to your head and neck. Handmade in Devon, it’s filled with 100% organic buckwheat hulls and wrapped in a natural cotton cover, free from bleach, dyes or synthetic materials.

Loved for its adjustable height and cooling airflow, this Japanese-style pillow is ideal for back, side, and front sleepers. Simply add or remove hulls to shape the pillow to your preferred thickness, then let the finely shifting fill cradle your head for stable, even support all night long.

Each pillow includes an internal zipped cotton cover to contain the hulls, and an optional outer cover for easier cleaning. The natural materials are hypoallergenic, breathable and biodegradable, making this pillow an ideal choice for those managing neck pain, overheating, or chemical sensitivities.

Our buckwheat hull pillows

Adjusting: You can easily add or remove buckwheat hulls to achieve your desired pillow thickness. We advise you to store them for future use. Buckwheat hulls are easy to manipulate into shape for bespoke support every night, and the pillow always remains firm.

Washing: The internal and external cotton covers can be washed, but the buckwheat hulls can’t. To clean the buckwheat hulls, lay them out in the sun or freeze them in a sealed bag for 24 hours.

Please note: Since this pillow is made from organic matter, you may notice a pleasant wood-like aroma. And due to the nature of the buckwheat hulls, you’ll hear a soft crunching sound like ocean waves as you move during the night. We recommend that you use this pillow with your standard pillowcase on top.
